LAST Saturday’s performances by registered participants who auditioned for the Guyana Telephone & Telegraph Company (GT&T) Jingle and Song Competition were overwhelming.
The contestants in English and Bollywood categories were 50 in total, and saw participation of family members well supported with excellent talent.
The judging panel of Gordon Moseley, Sean Bhola, Joel Ghansham and Charmaine Blackman was joined by Celia Samaroo.
Others officiating were GT&T Public Relations Officer Allison Parker and Mobile Sales Coordinator Allison Dundas, among other marketing and production staff.
The auditioning, which started shortly after 09:00 hrs, also involved photographersingerfootballer Bryon Forde, Marcus Baksh and Dennis Prince, of Edinburgh Village, East Bank Berbice, who was supported by his mother and sister.
During the process, supporters cheered those who succeeded as they were interviewed prior to rendering their individual pieces after Adrian Dutchin comforted several who were unsuccessful and encouraged them to strengthen the areas in which they failed.
The next audition will be conducted at Anna Regina Town Hall, on Essequibo Coast, Thursday, February 14, from 09:00hrs, for which another 80 entrants have, so far, been registered.
Following the Essequibo elimination, the National Cultural Centre in Georgetown will come alive with the largest number of contestants and a lot is expected of them before the final begins.
