AFTER a number of years the Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA) will revert to its constitutional requirements and will be holding their Annual General meeting and Biennial Elections not later than January as has been the case over the years.
Making the release yesterday to the seven affiliated Linden clubs, Secretary of the LABA Joseph Chapman said that of recent years the LABA’S Annual General Meeting and Biennial Elections were not held in January, but that it was agreed by the current executive to ensure the AGM and Elections are held as mandated by the LABA Constitution.
To make this a reality the Association in a release said the AGM and elections are set for Monday, January 28 at the Mackenzie Sports Club Lounge at 18.00hrs.
The notices were sent to the secretaries of the clubs namely Amelia’s Ward Jets, Half Mile Bulls, Kashif and Shanghai Kings, Retrieve Raiders, Wismar Pistons, Block 22 Flames and Victory Valley Royals.
The release also informed that those clubs must ensure they register their players by Saturday January 26, for the 2013 season.
The association intends to have competitions played for several categories of payers and this was the reason that clubs are being advised to complete the registration of their players.
At the same time the Club Affiliation Forms should comprise the current executives so that the association could communicate with the clubs more effectively.
These forms will also have the names of contact persons including the president, vice- president, secretary, treasurer, captains and managers for the 2013 season.
