MINER Roy Boyant, 30, of Friendship Canal, Lower Pomeroon River, was severely burnt with hot water on Tuesday in the Barama mining area, North West District.
According to the miner, he was working in the interior for the past two months and had asked another man who owed him some money to pay him.
The miner said he stood waiting to collect his money, when suddenly; someone came up from behind him and emptied a bucket of boiling water on him, causing severe burns to his shoulders, arms back and abdomen. He was rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital by his mother, Theresa Boyan.
