LORRY driver Puran Shaw of Better Hope, East Coast Demerara was alleged to have driven motor lorry GMM 1994 in a manner dangerous to the public on Wednesday, 10th October; and to have failed to render assistance to accident victim Rodwin Joseph on the same day. Appearing before Sparendaam Magistrate Alex Moore on Tuesday, 4th December, Shaw pleaded not guilty to the charges. He, however, opted to pay the accident victim compensation in the sum of $300,000 in two parts, and this offer was accepted by Joseph.

The matter was then set for January 4th, 2013, when a follow-up payment is expected to be made to the virtual complainant.
