THE Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation will host its Senior Championships at the National Cultural Centre on Sunday from 18:30hrs.

Speaking at a press briefing yesterday, the president of the Federation, Keavon Bess, said the athletes are up for the challenge and want to produce a strong showing with well-defined packages.

Additionally, the Federation has added a Wellness category that will give exposure to those who would have surpassed Miss Bikini.

The other two categories would be Bodybuilding and Men’s Physique.

At least 25 athletes should take the stage as the category winners will secure a spot on the country’s team to attend 2023 Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Championship in Aruba.

Noting that there are numerous changes happening to rules, Wellness, is a requirement for more mass on the lower bodies and shoulders as Ms Bikini is more of a “beach body” but toned.

At this year’s Central American and Caribbean Championships in Barbados, Rosanna Fung won the overall Wellness Class and a coveted International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) Elite Pro Card.

In 2021, a well-defined Darious Ramsammy, won his first Mr Guyana and the other winners were Emmerson Campbell, who won an unprecedented fifth Men’s Physique title, while Fung remained Miss Bikini champion.

Tickets cost $2 500 per adult.
