ONE of the world’s warriors against global climate change has again been internationally recognised. Guyana’s former President Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo has done it again, further enhancing Guyana’s international profile as a developing country in the world’s conservation of nature and the fight against global climate change and its dangerous consequences.
The former President, who is the architect of Guyana’s Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS), Champion of the Earth, Patron of Nature and Goodwill Ambassador for the Three Forest Basins of Amazonia, Congo and Borneo-Mekong was recently elected as the first President of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), an International body, based in Seoul, South Korea, and established to fight global climate change.
The former president’s election to the presidency of this international body was based on his vision, insight, leadership and outstanding contribution to the fight against global climate change and, more so, Guyana’s LCDS which he strategised and which is now being implemented.
Congratulations Dr. Jagdeo! You have once again made Guyana a proud nation.
