SURSATTIE Abdool and her 18- year-old daughter Christine Hansraj, who were fatally chopped last Monday by Abdool’s reputed husband, have been discharged from the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH), GPHC’s Public Relations Officer, Ms Telesha Whyte disclosed yesterday.
 Both women reside at Newtown, Enmore, East Coast Demerara (ECD). Abdool, who has mothered three other children for the same man, sustained five chops about her body, including one to her head, while her daughter sustained three chop wounds to her head, and scrapes about her body.

It was revealed by a relative who preferred to remain anonymous that Abdool had spent the past 13 years of her life being tormented and tortured by her assailant.

The relative said that at approximately 07:30 hrs on Monday, the man, having taken a shower, came to the bedroom, saw Abdool on the bed, and started a pointless fight; and when Abdool decided to leave the room, he grabbed her and started to cuff her about her body.

The man then reportedly picked up a cutlass which was in the room and dealt Abdool several broadsides before he started to fire chops at her.

The relative pointed out that Abdool’s daughter heard the commotion, came over to the house, and started admonishing the man to leave her mother alone. And that was when the man turned his attention on her and started to chop her as well.

Thereafter, the man ran out of the house, and his whereabouts have since been a complete mystery.
