THE Guyana Central Arya Samaj wishes to express its concerns over recent incidents that occurred in certain parts of Guyana.

We wish to state categorically that we denounce and condemn such atrocities which resulted in the disruption of the lives of peaceful citizens and also their loss of property. We note with grave concern that during the so-called “peaceful” protest at Agricola, East Bank Demerara, peaceful Guyanese citizens including children and some of our members were senselessly attacked, beaten and robbed.
We, at the Guyana Central Arya Samaj, support the right to protest and also the right to express your feelings and sentiments. But we verily believe that these rights must be expressed in a civilised and peaceful manner.
We call on the relevant authorities to take a firm stand against the organisers and perpetrators of these criminal activities.
We also call on the Government of Guyana to launch investigations into these disturbances so that the organisers and perpetrators can be brought to justice.
