King's Jewellery to sponsor Saturday's golf tournament

THE third annual King’s Jewellery World Medal Play Golf tournament will take place tomorrow at the Lusignan Golf Club. Jerome Khan, president of the Lusignan Golf Club said the Club was pleased to have the local jewellers on board for a third successive year.
According to Khan, players can look forward to special prizes being offered by King’s Jewellery World this weekend.
“Twenty-five players have been registered as of this morning (yesterday) and we expect more registrations by the close tomorrow afternoon,” he added.
The previous winners were William Walker and Rita Heikens but a new champion will be crowned as Heikens, wife of former European Union Ambassador Geert Heikens who won last year has since returned to her homeland.
The field will include the in-form Colin Ming who won last weekend’s tournament Kassim Bacchus, Kishan Bacchus, Alfred Mentore, Walker, Gavin Todd, Christine Sukhram, Patrick Prashad, Brian Hackett, Mark Lashley, Chatterpaul Deo, Troy Cadogan, Rawle Moore, Brian Glasford, Joaan Deo, Robert Hanoman, Mike Guyadin, Clifford Reis, Dave Mohamed, Dr Ram Singh and Maurice Solomon.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three players with the best net scores as well as best gross and nearest to the pin.
Tee-off is at 12:30hrs.
Next weekend the players will compete in the MACORP-sponsored tournament.
