Health Ministry, CIOG partner to manage New Amsterdam Funeral Parlour

MINISTRY of Health Permanent Secretary, Malcolm Watkins, on Tuesday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG) for the management and operation of the New Amsterdam Funeral Parlour, East Berbice-Corentyne.

During his remarks, Health Minister, Dr. Frank Anthony, welcomed the initiative and said that the ministry is grateful for the partnership and collaboration with the CIOG.

“We know the hardship that people were experiencing in Region Five and Six and therefore this is a very timely intervention. We value this partnership and by combining our efforts we will be able to reach people and provide services,” Minister Anthony said.

Also present at the signing ceremony held at the Ministry of Health, Brickdam Headquarters, were Deputy President, Goolzar Namdar; Director of Education and Dawah, Moeenul Hack and CIOG General Manager, Shameena Haniff.
