OUTSTANDING performers of Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate Examination (CSEC) were recently honoured for their stellar performance by Adamantium Holdings in collaboration with the Alfro Alphonso and Sons – an established company in the region.

This annual presentation ceremony was held in the R.C.A. TV. Studio at Charity, Essequibo Coast.

Four of the region’s top CSEC awardees: Anuradha Basdeo, Kelly Sankar, Parmesh Ramgobin, and Toycia Moore were the students who each received cash prizes of $100,000.

Basdeo placed first in the region and fourth overall in the country with 17 grade ones and two grade twos, while Kelly Sankar of the Anna Regina Multilateral School copped second in the region and placed 10th in the country and with 16 grade ones and four grade twos. Also copping top spots are Tycia Moore and Parmesh Ramgobin. Both students are also from the Anna Regina Multilateral School with 15 grades ones and five grade twos.

Operation Manager of Adamantium Holdings, Haimwan Beharry, congratulated the students for their exceptional performance. Beharry emphasised how important it is for both Adamantium Holdings and Alfro Alphonso Enterprises to foster, recognise and commend academic excellence.

He added, “We know it has been a challenging year for students and the entire world due to COVID, but we applaud you all for your relentless determination and fervent effort to surpass all these obstacles and emerge successful.”

Top performer of the Abram Zuil Secondary School, Anuradha Basdeo expressed her gratitude to the companies for their kind gesture and promised that it will go a far way.

Parmesh Ramgobin and Toycia Moore were represented by their parents.
