VETERAN golfers, Avinda Kishore and Shanella London, were crowned respective new Male/Female champions of the GTT Guyana Open Golf tournament.

Some 76 golfers from across the world and Guyana battled for the coveted winner’s jacket and title, as both golfers bagged their second title in their career.

Kishore, commonly called ‘Ganguly’ on the Course, ended with overall winning statistics of a Best Gross of 137 and Net 131, bouncing back from being under par for most of the competition. He dethroned his brother, Avinash Persaud, Guyana’s longest reigning and most decorated champ.

The former 10 time champ, Persaud, ended with a Gross of 145 and Net 147.

For the women, London and then reigning champ, Christine Sukhram, both had a Gross 160 (Best Net of the tournament 136), before winning on a countback, as former champ, Dr. Joaan Deo settled for third with a Gross 165.
