THIRTY-ONE-YEAR- OLD taxi driver, Roylon Adolph, who was allegedly nabbed with $1.8 million worth of cannabis in his car, was, on Tuesday released on $250,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
Adolph of Industrial Area, McKenzie, Linden, appeared before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on October 22, at ‘D’ Field Sophia, Georgetown, he had 4.296 kilograms of cannabis in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The Chief Magistrate released Adolph on $250,000 bail on the condition that he reports to Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) headquarters every Friday, until completion of the case.
The case was adjourned until November 22.
According to a report from the agency, CANU officers, while conducting operations at ‘D’ Field, Sophia, searched Adolph’s white Toyota fielder wagon and discovered 4.296 kilograms of cannabis “poppy” in eight bulky parcels.
