Wanted man shot by police at Kaneville -while attempting to commit a robbery

JAMES HUTSON called James Emannuel, who was wanted for questioning in relation to an armed robbery at Grove, East Bank Demerara (EBD), was shot and injured by the police at Kaneville during efforts to arrest him while he attempted to rob another person on Tuesday. Police reported that at about 13:30 hours on Tuesday last the police responded to a report received that Hutson, 40, of Grove Squatting Area, was in a shop at Grove, EBD, attempting to rob a customer.
However, the police later confronted James Hutson in a yard at Kaneville Access Road, EBD, and during efforts to arrest him he attacked the police with an ice-pick, causing the police to resort to the use of force and he was shot to his right foot.
He is a patient under police guard at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
James Hutson was wanted for questioning by the police in a robbery that occurred on Tuesday where it was reported that he robbed Richard Dazell of Grove Housing Scheme of $15,000 at Grove.
