Former GGMC Commissioner is engaged in settling scores

WHY am I amongst most Guyanese not surprised that a retired Commissioner of the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission, GGMC is now providing his services to the Guyana Gold and Diamond Miners Association, GGDMA in the form of delivering so called lectures as was published in the daily newspapers? Isn’t this unethical and unprofessional, I know every man and woman has a right to earn and as far as I know there is a standard period of four years after leaving an organisation that a person can make public disclosure of the organisation he/she formerly served. Now it is transparent how sensitive and confidential information regarding the mining sector was leaked to the GGDMA, which has been crying foul about the management of the sector.
It is also believed that this retired Commissioner is having valuable information regarding the mineral properties of the various mining districts which is being shared at a cost with his comrades. I do hope that the government and the GGMC will examine this malfeasance and take legal action.
I strongly believe that the retired Commissioner of the GGMC is now settling scores with the Commission and some of his former colleagues by using the GGDMA as a puppet to settle his own personal vendetta. With all this said and done, I would like to caution the GGDMA and other stakeholders of the mining sector not to be misled and caught off guard by this charade.
In closing, I would like to urge the Executive and Members of the GGDMA to be cognizant that the Association is being deliberately besmirched by virtue of its association with this retired GGMC Commissioner who is out to settle scores with the Commission and the Government.
