THE Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF) and the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) in observance of Olympic Solidarity Day, celebrations around the world will showcase volleyball at all ages in a one-day festival which will be held today from 10:00hrs at the National Gymnasium.
This is expected to be an exciting event which will showcase the programmes of the primary/secondary volleyball project of the GVF and also give members of the public a firsthand view of the expansion of volleyball.
The festival will also showcase other sportsmen and women of other disciplines participating in their respective sport, such as hockey, basketball and football, as they demonstrate their skills in the sport to the public.
President of the GVF, Mr Lenny Shuffler, in an interview with Chronicle Sport, said the event will see the GVF’s grassroots and community development programmes being showcased, adding that they will build a broad base multi-discipline reception to the various sporting disciplines while garnering more support for volleyball.
The general public is invited to be a part of this event where refreshments will be on sale.
