AN accident on the Soesdyke Public Road on the East Bank of Demerara in the wee hours of Sunday resulted in the death of 47-year-old Lester Williams of Kuru Kururu, Soesdyke-Linden Highway. Police Headquarters in a statement noted that Williams was driving his car (HC 8750) at a fast rate of speed heading north when he lost control and crashed into motor lorry GNN 5308, which was parked on the western side of the road, facing south. The fatal collision occurred around 02:00hrs. Williams, a taxi driver, was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) by police and public-spirited citizens, where he was pronounced dead. The police said both vehicles were damaged extensively.
