‘Sweetie man’ found dead in Linden

THE body of 54-year-old Dwane Williams called “Levi” or “Sweetie man” was found Friday at Wismar Housing Scheme, Linden, with a gaping wound to the throat.
Dwane Williams was a self-employed/vendor who resided alone at Wismar Housing Scheme, Linden.

According to the victim’s 33-year-old nephew of One Mile, Wismar, Linden, about 21:00 hours on Thursday, Williams visited his 88-year-old mother who resides with him.
The nephew said that Williams spent some time then left, informing his mother that he was heading home to prepare a meal.

The man’s nephew said that about 05:45hrs on Thursday, he received information from persons in the area that his uncle was seen lying behind a shack.
The police were subsequently summoned to the scene and the body was examined and a gaping wound was seen to the throat and another to his right wrist. The area was searched and a knife was found.

The body was escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex and later taken to the G. Jetsco Funeral home awaiting autopsy as investigations continue.
