Kudos to this exemplary policeman

I WISH to bring to the senior ranks of the Guyana Police Service a very commendable performance of a Policeman whom I personally feel others should emulate. This policeman is the Sergeant of the  Charity Police Station, Mr. Clark. I have been a community oriented person for a number of years and have been supportive of the police at various levels, especially the management of the station. I have been forced to write this letter since I have never come across an individual of Mr. Clark’s stature.
Mr. Clark will start his day by walking on the road, controlling the traffic within the market area. He would then get the school children into buses to go to school. Some of the children would be loitering in and around the car parks and market area and he would rounds-them-up also. This kind of work reminds me of  Assistant Commissioner Mr. George Vyphuis who, when he was Divisional Commander in Essequibo, was a ‘no nonsense’ man. I strongly feel the GPF should emulate these two gentlemen who have set and live an example of how a policeman should operate. We have had a decrease of petty crimes also, since many strange personalities are called in for questioning at the station. Charity is a port of entry and people from as far as Venezuela would usually frequent Charity. That is why the police outpost which was so long advocated for is still an asset to the security of the Pomeroon and the surrounding areas. I have been a long advocate for this outpost since Feroze Mohamed was the Minister of Home Affairs in the 1990s.
I do hope my words of advice and encouragement would reach the relevant personalities in good faith and understanding.
May god bless the GPF.
