FOUR persons were arrested at around 21:30 hours on Monday evening after police, acting on information they received, conducted a search of a house at Grant 1803 Crabwood Creek, Corriverton, where they discovered $320,000 in counterfeit notes.
The forged Guyana currency was found in a batch of 64 $5000 notes.
Acting on further information, police conducted another search at a house located in Grant 1806, Sea Dam Crabwood Creek where one white HP desk jet printer and two laptops were found.
The equipment is suspected to be the ones used to print the fake currency. The Guyana
Chronicle understands that the suspects may have printed in excess of $800,000 already.
The four persons arrested, including one female, were taken to the Springlands Police
Station pending investigation. The equipment was also lodged as evidence. In photos are the equipment and money seized in during the search.
