THE police are investigating the alleged murder of 37-year-old Sophia resident, Andre Kenyatta, who was shot dead on July 7, 2020, following an altercation with a neighbour.

According to information from the man’s reputed wife, Samantha Shelto, Kenyatta recently had an altercation with the suspect in question and had made a report to the police, on the evening prior to his death.

According to reports, Shelto stated that the altercation began when Kenyatta was asked by the reputed wife of the suspect in question (whose name was given as Keron), to remove his horse from an empty lot in front of her home, after which she started abusing him with expletives, and, subsequently, got the suspect involved. An argument ensued and the suspect pulled a gun and made threats to Kenyatta’s life.

Based on what this publication learnt, Shelto said that she told her husband to report the matter to the police and he left and went to the station to report the matter. She stated that following that she woke, on Tuesday morning, to an alert from a neighbour that Kenyatta was shot dead a corner away.
Kenyatta leaves to mourn his reputed wife and one nine-month-old baby. Meanwhile the suspect, ‘Keron’ and his reputed wife are currently on the run.
