A 76-year old woman is Guyana’s latest COVID-19 casualty.
The Ministry of Public Health this evening confirmed that the woman, May Portsmouth, who passed yesterday at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation died from complications attributed to the disease.
The ministry extended sincere condolences are extended to her family, relatives and friends.
The woman’s death add’s to two other COVID-related deaths which have been recorded over the past week.
Last Thursday, 34 -year old Bartica businessman Abdool Khan died from COVID-19 complications at the GPHC.
On Saturday night, 25-year old Lethem teacher Donna Ambrose-Greaves also died from complications attributed to the virus.
Guyana recorded five new cases of the pandemic over the past 24hours, carrying the total recorded cases to 278.Of that number, 142 are active cases.
