Missing minibus conductor found dead

LESS than 24 hours after 30-year-old minibus conductor was reported missing, his lifeless body, was, on Monday, pulled out from the the Unity foreshore, East Coast Demerara (ECD).

Dead is Rabindranath Persaud, of Longwood Enmore, ECD.
The Guyana Chronicle was made to understand that, on Sunday, May 24, around 06:00 hours, Persaud left home after telling his reputed wife that he was going to work, and was taking a drop with motor car PMM 3961.

Later that day, around 14:30 hours, someone called the Mahaica Police Station and reported that a group of persons were swimming at the Unity foreshore, ECD.
The caller told the police that a wave covered Persaud and he went under and did not surface.

Checks were made for Persaud, but he was not found.
Three persons who were with Persaud at the time of the accident were questioned by the police.

Persaud’s family and friends had managed to launch a search party. On Monday morning, around 08:00 hours, Persaud’s lifeless body was found at the foreshore wrapped in a fishing net.
Police investigation is ongoing.
