THE Chronicle reported that much anticipated debate on the 2012 national budget got off to a heated start in the National Assembly on Tuesday with Shadow Finance Minister, Carl Greenidge of the opposition PNC-led APNU sanctimoniously criticising and pontificating on the PPP/C administration’s management of the country’s economy, swiftly followed by a crushing rebuttal from government MP, Minister Irfaan Ali. PPP’s Mr. Ali must remind the PNC’s Carl Greenidge that at one time during the PNC’s reign of terror over Guyanese that a Canadian finance minister by the name of Michael Wilson did the Guyana PNC budget for him because he was incapable of doing so.
One could look at Stabroek News blogs and see what the PNC’s Carl Greenidge is called and what will be his legacy in Guyana’s society.
He is referred to as “Carl de food banner Greenidge” and that will be his legacy in the history of Guyana.
Under the PNC’s brutal rule for 28 years, Guyana became a little shade richer than Haiti making Guyana ‘A nation of half starved beggars’ and that will forever be PNC Burnham/Hoyte and ‘Carl de food banner Greenidge’ and PNC’s legacy.
If the PNC has to dig down so deep to find men such as the ‘ballot box man’ David Granger and the likes of ‘Carl de food banner Greenidge’ to lead it, then most Guyanese will have known there is nothing much in terms of brains within PNC circles.
The PNC in their budget debates must pound their fists on the table, stomp their feet on the floor and before walking out of parliament must say the words “No Confidence”.
The PNC are not stupid to the word “elections” for they know next “go-round” at the ballot box they will be crushed and be wiped out once and for all, since most Guyanese are now witnesses to the PNC in action with the little limited power it holds in parliament.
Again I will repeat that there is no such thing as APNU or AFC.
It’s PNC whichever way they want to turn it or twist it.
The Guyanese people are catching on real fast.
