Bush Lot Challengers advance to playoffs
THE 2011 New Building Society-sponsored, Berbice Cricket Board-organised second division 40 overs a side cricket competition resumed recently after a long delay caused by bad weather, with Bush Lot Challengers becoming the latest team to reach the last 16 playoffs.
They defeated Rainbow Generation in their final Zone A preliminary match to emerge as champions of that zone, thus earning the right to advance.
In the match, which was played at Bush Lot, Rainbow Generation scored 176 from 31 overs – Keno Gravesande 48, Tyson Carmichael 28 and Brentnal Woodford 27 being the top scorers.
Rajbance Hemraj (3-30), Hemchand Budhoo (2-20) and Navendra Ramsaroop who took 2 for 27,were the leading wicket-takers for Bush Lot Challengers who reached 178 for 6 in 24 overs in reply, with Rajbance Hemraj 28 and Brandon Balkissoon 26 leading them to victory. Keno Gravesande took 2 for 40 for Rainbow Generation.

At Lovely Lass, Achievers beat Rainbow Generation by 4 wickets. Rainbow Generation 128 in 29 overs with Sherwyn McPherson 3 for 6, Dennis Webster 2 for 18 and Rafael Estriado 2 for 23. Achievers 129 for 6 in 22 overs, Kurd Griffith 43 not out and Tyson Carmichael took 2 for 23.
At Cumberland, Celebrity Times beat Canefield by 5 wickets. Canefield 79 in 18.2 overs with Vishal Mohabir 33, Hemendra Ramdihal 2 for 12 and Arshad Farik 2 for 14. Celebrity Times 83 for 5 is 12.3 overs with David Lukenauth 29, Balram Samaroo 23 not out and Khamesh Kassim 4 for 22.
