Vendor on damage to property charge granted $30,000 bail

BOURDA Market Vendor, Terrence Deodat (no address given) was alleged to have unlawfully and maliciously damaged a windscreen worth $40,000, on a van, the property of Wooheed Phillips, in an incident which was alleged to have occurred at Commerce Street, Georgetown on March 27 last. Appearing before Georgetown Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton, Thursday charged with malicious damage to property, Deodat pleaded guilty, claiming that the driver had driven up to him and the vehicle had hit him, and he had turned around and hit the windscreen with his hand, not meaning to inflict any serious damage.
His application for bail was granted at $30,000, and his matter was set for report and fixture on April 16.
