I HAD a view of the Kaieteur Newspaper dated Sunday March 25, 2012.
On the front page is a photograph with some scrapped locomotives at Matthews Ridge. The headline stated, “An unusual sight.” However, due to my likeness for tourism, I foresee that this site can be developed and transformed into a tourism heritage park for these locomotives.
I am suggesting that the government, along with the Ministry of Tourism and the National Trust, consider this before these locomotives are left there to be vandalised and destroyed by scrap iron business individuals.
Matthews Ridge locomotive site should become a tourism heritage park
