MOBARAK Ali, 64, of 46 Austin Street, Campbellville, Georgetown, who survived a brutal pit bull attack on February 20 last, is yet to receive compensation from the owner of the dogs. Ali was on his way to the mosque about 6:00hrs that morning, when, not far from his home, he was attacked by two pit bulls.
At the Chronicle offices yesterday, Ali, accompanied by his wife Kairoon, reported that the wounds about his body have healed, but lacerations on his left hand have not, and they have left him left him partially disabled. The hand also pains him terribly.
And since he cannot use the hand, he is dependent on his wife.
The elderly man added that the owner is offering $300,000 compensation, but he is unwilling to accept this, saying that the doctor’s bills have exceeded that amount, and he is still receiving treatment for his wounds.
