– Police The newspaper had reported that Police swooped down on a house at Victoria, East Coast Demerara and rescued the teen who was being held against his will by a group of bisexual men and a young woman. The report also stated that one of the occupants of the home had been detained after he admitted having sexual relations with the lad and that Police said the man could face abduction and buggery charges. But the Police, in a statement, said investigations revealed that, last February 22, the 15-year-old was sent on an errand, in Leopold Street, Georgetown, by his mother and, not seeing him return, she reported him missing on February 23. The statement said Police, subsequently, located him at Victoria on Saturday, March 28, when an alleged homosexual and his niece in the house were arrested. Police said the teen had travelled to Suriname and returned to Guyana on March 11, when he met the homosexual in Stabroek Market area and accepted an invitation to the Victoria place where he went of his own free will. He was not abducted and was free to come and go as he pleased, Police said, adding that the boy was not sexually molested but had engaged in anal sex with the homosexual.
THE Police have refuted a Kaieteur News report of Sunday, March 29, 2009, under the caption ‘Runaway teenage boy rescued from bisexuals’ home’.
Investigations are continuing, the Police indicated.
