A QUANTITY of chairs and stools were recently presented to the Nabaclis Nursery School by members of the Nabaclis Youth and Community Development Co-op Foundation. The presentation was birthed out of a meeting between the school’s Headteacher and leaders of the Youth group back in July, 2019.

Soon after, members organised various activities including a Hotdog and cake sale to raise funds to support the donation of the items. Assistance was also received from Banks DIH Limited through Ms Marisa Peterkin, Optimum Pure Water and Wendy’s Snackette in Nabaclis and members of the group who volunteered their time to also paint parts of the school.

In handing over the items, the Chairman of the Group, Mr Keyon Morgan, expressed thanks to the school’s headteacher, Ms Yonnette Yaw, her staff and the PTA for the work they are doing with the children and the community as a whole. He further expressed the group’s desire to see the items used in such a way that brings maximum benefit to the teachers, parents and children.

The headteacher echoed the Chairman’s statements and promised that the items will be made full use of. She expressed gratitude to the NY&CDC for what she described as a much-needed donation since seating capacity for the school’s PTA meetings was limited. She further thanked the group for being a community partner in the development of children and the Nabaclis Nursery School specifically and expressed hope that it will continue.

The Nabaclis Youth and Community Development Co-op Foundation was established in 2018 by mostly youths in the community to promote and advance the economic, cultural and educational needs of the community.
