A 56-year-old man, Terrence Jackson, is being processed for court, after he, allegedly, knifed to death Somattie Kiasran, his reputed wife and the mother of his six children, on Thursday evening. The incident took place at Cane Grove, East Coast Demerara.
This publication was told that, just after 19:00hrs on Thursday, the woman and the man got into an argument while at their lot 36 Virginia Cane Grove, East Coast Demerara home.
As a consequence, the man whipped out a knife from a bag and allegedly stabbed the woman several times about her body. He also reportedly slit her throat before fleeing.
On Friday morning, diligent work by the police detectives in Division 4C resulted in Jackson’s capture.

Speaking with the Guyana Chronicle at the couple’s home, the couple’s sixteen-year-old daughter Sherry Jackson recalled what she witnessed.
“A lot of time he does tell me he gon kill my mother, he gon stab she and so but I hide it from she which is my fault too and he ain’t had no right to do such thing because now we both left without somebody” she related.

The young lady said that her father had been accusing her mother of being unfaithful to him.
On Thursday after the two began to argue the woman reportedly said that she was going to sleep on the floor and that her reputed husband could use the bed.
“She told him peacefully that she is not sleeping with him tonight and then she turned and told him that she only need the mattress and netting,” her daughter recalled.
Meanwhile the Guyana Police Force, in a release, confirmed that the suspect had been taken into custody and that an investigation on-going

“Investigations thus far revealed that at about 19:45 hrs on Thursday, January 23, 2020, Somattie Kiasran returned home and found her daughter and the suspect at home. After having a shower she was accused by the suspect of having an affair with a ‘car man’ [following which] she went into the bedroom, collected a mattress along with a mosquito net, then told the suspect she will sleep outside,” the release said.

According to the release, the suspect, who became annoyed, retrieved a knife from the kitchen and dealt her several stabs about her body and fled the scene.
Police said Kiasran was rushed to the Mahaicony Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The suspect is in police custody assisting with the investigation, Police said.
