WITH the inclement weather patterns seen in recent months, government is ardently working to extend the capacity of the East Demerara Water Conservancy (EDWC).

Minister within the Ministry of Agriculture, Alli Baksh and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority, Lionel Wordsworth visited the conservancy to examine the ongoing works.
Whilst there, Minister Baksh and Wordsworth had discussions with officials of BK International, who were awarded the project to execute works on the conservancy which will see it being dredged amongst other things to expand its current capacity.
