Industrial action a breach of contract
The following is a letter sent to President of the University of Guyana Senior Staff Association (UGSSA), Dr Patsy Francis on Friday by UG Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Prem Misir, advising of the implications of contractual employees engaging in industrial action, as painstakingly outlined in Section 2 of the Trade Union Recognition Act of 1997. It was copied to the Chancellor, Dr Compton Bourne; Dr Marlene Cox, Vice-Chancellor (Ag); and UGWU President, Mr. Bruce Haynes.
