RAWL Allen, 31, of Lot 839 Second Street, South Turkeyen, East Coast Demerara, appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday, charged with larceny from the person and assault. He pleaded not guilty to both charges, which stated that, on February 12, in America Street, Georgetown, he stole $12,000 from Onika Prince and unlawfully assaulted her.
Prosecuting Police Sergeant Gordon Mansfield, said the defendant and virtual complainant shared an intimate relationship and the former took away the money from the latter prior to assaulting her.
Allen was put on $40,000 bail until March 12.
