Guyana must be allowed to chart its own course

Dear Editor,
I respectfully request that you grant me space in your letter column to inform the diplomatic community, not to be disrespectful to my President, the Rt Honourable President David Arthur Granger and the people of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana.

These diplomats enjoy the best of our hospitality and to sit in our country, an independent State, and put their mouth in our business is total disrespect and ‘eye pass’. Mr. Editor, their position in this country is to foster relationship with the parties in the political arena, the private sector etc., and not meddle in our affairs. The highest court in our land had already advised on the way forward in this matter.

How come they disrespect the Guyanese people and especially my President by telling him what to do in this country?

Mr. Editor, I David Noel call on them to withdraw their statement and offer an immediate apology to my President and all the Guyanese people. Mr. Editor, I ask the diplomats the following questions: Why did they keep their mouths shut when the (PPP) Manickchand and Teixeira insulted the American Ambassador at his farewell party in the presence of all and sundries.

Which political party guests at the same event immediately cried shame at the statement made by Manickhand and Teixeira? If the diplomats do not wish to answer, then let me remind them it was the APNU guests at the function. Lest they play forgetful. Mr. Editor I beg of you to grant me, a senior citizen, this letter of mine the space in your column because this insult hurts me for them to insult my President and fellow citizens.

Regards
David Noel
