At Berbice Assizes…

‘Shark Oil’ murder trial adjourned to tomorrow
DEFENCE Counsel, Raymond Ali yesterday made a successful application for an adjournment in the murder trial of Herman Ali at the Berbice Assizes.
The lawyer informed Justice Brassington Reynolds that he  received the depositions only moments before the case was due to commence.
Ali nicknamed ‘Shark Oil’, is indicted for unlawfully killing Roydel Sandy, between October 5 and 6, 2006, at Rose Hall Town, Corentyne.
The accused, who has been in custody since the crime was alleged to have been committed, pleaded not guilty to the indictment before the mixed jury was sworn.
The judge adjourned the proceedings to tomorrow, when State Prosecutor, Zamilla Ally will represent the prosecution.
