R&B singer and Grammy Award winner, Keri Hilson, along with Jamaica’s reggae King Morgan Heritage, I Octane, and Guyana’s very own X’s 2 Adrian and Jomo will headline a special concert being hosted on February 17 to celebrate Digicel’s 5th anniversary. At a press briefing yesterday, the company announced that Keri, who will be gracing the shores of Guyana for the first time, will share the stage with rising reggae star I Octane.
Guyana’s duo X’s 2 are slated to open the mega concert which will be hosted at the National Stadium.
According to Digicel’s head of marketing, Jacqueline James, Digicel is very excited about the upcoming concert, touting it as unforgettable.
James said, “Digicel has a reputation for hosting good shows and we will definitely live up to expectations. Keri is an extremely talented performer and she is excited to meet her Guyanese fans. We hold I-Octane close to our heart since he is Digicel’s International Ambassador. Tickets for the Mega Concert are even  being sold for $1500 only in the month of January during the early bird sale. Next month they will cost $3000, and an all inclusive VIP ticket is being sold at $15,000.
James said $500 will be given in free credit with every ticket purchased.
“Tickets will be sold in the form of a special top-up scratch card. Customers can enter the voucher number like any other top-up card, and persons must keep the cards since they will be used for entry at the concert.”
Meanwhile Digicel has also announced that it will be participating in Mashramani 2012, the band launch is set for February 9 and interested persons can join Mash fit at the Demerara Cricket Club on Monday to Thursday up until the January 22.
Additionally the company says it will be continuing its sponsorship of the Park Side Steel Orchestra for the Steel Pan Competition set for February 19.
Digicel will also be part of the Chutney Super Concert, Clash of the Titans 2 on March 3 in Georgetown and March 10 in Berbice.
