EMPIRE Media Inc, in its preparation to host ‘Art of War 2019’ in July, partnered with XL Energy Drink to host a DJ battle tournament titled “XL Lock De Scene”.

The competition was launched on March 4, 2019 and saw 12 DJs who vied for $100,000, a spot in ‘Art of War 2019’ and Ambassadorship for XL Energy Drink. Doing battle every Monday night at the Turning Point bar, the DJs competed for the attractive package.
Nine DJs were, however. eliminated during the tournament, and three made it to the semifinals.

DJ Bandit of Spotlight Sound; DJ Kevin of Royalty Vibes; and DJ Guy out of the Mighty Ruler Sound faced off in the semifinals. It was a hard-fought musical war, which saw DJ Kevin and DJ Guy being victorious.

The two went on to face each other in the finals, but only one survived. DJ Guy kicked off the evening, firing tunes that had the crowd in a frenzy. His clash skills were clearly evident as he mastered the mix to entertain his fans. But it was DJ Kevin, however, who took the microphone after that caused an uproar.

He was ready for battle, and pelted tunes that had the crowd jumping. This went on for the entire segment, and it was clear who the winner was.

The fans, by a show of hands, adjudged DJ Kevin as the XL Lock De Scene champion. In the end, he was declared winner of the tournament, and has secured his spot in ‘Art of War 2019’ to be held in July. DJ Kevin also walked away with $100,000, and received Ambassadorship for XL Energy Drink.
