Police are investigating the death of a 54-year-old woman whose lifeless body was found at her Albouystown home earlier today.

Dead is Naline Persaud , called ‘Nalo.’ The mother of two managed her James Street, Albouystown business for over 20 years. Her reputed husband was found in the lower flat of the the couple’s home. He sustained injuries which were allegedly inflicted by the intruders who entered the couple’s home during the wee hours of Thursday.

Persons in the area spoke well of Persaud; her relatives stated that she felt comfortable in the community. As such her death came as a shock to many.

Her son who lived next door with his family was unaware of what happened at his mother’s home.Residents told this publication that the perpetrators had to be someone who knew the place and the persons who lived there because of manner in which the home accessed.

Police investigators are working to apprehend the perpetrators. Persaud’s death comes on the heels of another robbery/murder in which was Parika businessman was killed during a robbery.

On Tuesday night a farmer, mechanic and businessman was shot dead at his home, after being robbed by two bandits Tuesday night.
The 46-year-old man has been identified as Somdat ‘Rakesh’ Ramgobin of Parika Backdam, EBE. He leaves two sisters and six brothers to mourn his death.

Police said they are making stringent efforts to quickly arrest the two bandits who allegedly robbed and killed the farmer/businessman at his residence about 21:30h Tuesday night.
