… Elite league continues tonight
VICTORIA Kings FC conceded Match 12 in the Elite League football competition against GDF FC Friday night at the GDF ground, following an unfortunate incident where the team’s dressing room was ransacked and money stolen. The match ended 2-1.
The incident is now being investigated by the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) and the Guyana Defence Force said mechanisms will be implemented to avoid a recurrence.
At halftime, after discovering the theft had taken place, the team registered their disinterest in continuing the match, but this was after GDF FC had registered two goals by Darrel George and Delroy Fraser in the 16th and 38th minutes respectively. Victoria Kings’ Azumah Roberts netted their only goal in the 43rd minute.
Meanwhile, in the first match Western Tigers enjoyed a 3-0 win against Den Amstel FC with Andrew Murray registering a brace in the 40th and 44th minutes, complemented by one from Randolph Wagner in the 62nd minute.
The GFF Elite League continues tonight at the Police ground, Eve Leary, with Santos FC vs Buxton United at 18:00hrs and Guyana Police Force FC vs Milerock FC at 20:00hrs.
Admission fee to all matches is $500.
