The Alliance For Change (AFC) has commended the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha (GHDS) under the leadership of Dr. Vindhya Persaud, on being awarded the prestigious Pravasi Samman Award from the Government of India.

The Sabha received the award on January 23, 2019, in recognition of its outstanding contribution in the field of community service.

“The AFC is pleased that the Government of India has recognised Dr. Persaud and the Sabha for their outstanding and commendable work. The AFC further recognises the long life dedication to Guyana of the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha and its founding leader, the late Reepu Daman Persaud, father of Dr. Vindhya Persaud,” AFC Executive and Minister of Public Telecommunications Cathy Hughes told reporters at a party briefing on Tuesday.

She singled out Dr. Vindhya Persaud for her leadership in Sabha, noting that the AFC joins with all of Guyana in noting the importance of the award.
