Dear Editor
THE Soesdyke Huis’t Coverden Neighbourhood Democratic Council, which was elected at the November 12, 2018 Local Government Elections wishes to announce that it has assumed full responsibility for its catchment area.
The new Chairman Bhuependra Deokie, Vice-Chairman Kalowtee Persaud and the General Council all wish to reassure residents that they intend to work feverishly towards fulfilling their promises and to implement a work programme that seeks to improve the lives of residents in all nine constituencies of the NDC. The Council has also re-committed itself to the highest standards of accountability and transparency in order to achieve the benefits of good governance.
Residents of this Local Authority can expect weekly public-day meetings at the NDC office, the posting of the Council’s quarterly financial statements, quarterly community outreaches covering every constituency, and the operation of a public gallery so Council meetings can be observed by residents. The general programme will cover the upkeep and maintenance of Council assets, community drains and bridges, and the implementation of better solid-waste practices.
We wish to express our gratitude to all those who expressed confidence in us by offering us the opportunity to serve. We pledge to work with all partners and stakeholders to make Soesdyke Huis’t Coverden a place of pride!
Regards
Soesdyke Huis’t Coverden Neighbourhood Democratic Council
