COMMANDER of ‘G’ Division, Khalid Pareshram, in the coming weeks will be moving to address a number of issues raised by residents of Wakenaam, Region Three, following a recent visit there.
Some of the concerns raised by residents include youth involvement in drugs; the need for better police/community partnership; no pedestrian crossing signs at schools; need for traffic lectures in school; and greater police presence in communities.

Residents also requested additional lecturers for the driver theory examinations. Noise nuisance was also a major concern for residents.
During the interaction, Commander of ‘G’ Division, Khalid Pareshram encouraged parents to allow their children to join the police’s youth groups on the island.
He said it is important for youths on the Island to be involved in activities that will groom their future.
He also gave the division’s commitment to ensuring the island is safe, and shared his mobile numbers with residents to contact him if need be.
