Motion moved to have DCB members imprisoned for contempt of court

IN a Notice of Motion filed at the Supreme Court Registry last Friday, former West Indies Cricketer and Coach, and President of the Georgetown Cricket Association, Mr. Roger Harper is asking the court to commit 10 members of the Demerara Cricket Board to prison for Contempt of Court. The respondents, jointly and severally named by the applicant are Rajendra Singh, Alfred Mentore, Anand Sanasie, Kristenchand Mangal, Dr. Ravi Persaud, Anand Kalladeen, Lalta Digamber, Colin Europe, Rohan Sarjoo and Ray Persaud.
The motion is asking that the court be moved today at 09:00 hrs, when the counsel on behalf of the applicant would submit that:

(a) An Order that the respondents herein do stand committed to the Georgetown prison for Contempt of Court for  holding and attending meetings, organizing  competitions, selecting teams and/or holding themselves out to be and/or acting as members of the Demerara Cricket Board or authorizing and instructing  the same to be done, in complete disrespect, disobedience and disregard of their undertaking given  to the Honourable Mr. Justice James Bovell-Drakes (in Chambers) dated the 21st day of April, 2011;

(b)    An Order that the Respondents do pay to the Applicant costs of and incidental to this application and for any Order to be made herein.
The Notice of Motion was issued by Mr. Mohabir Anil Nandlall, Mr. Euclin Gomes, Mr. Sase Gunraj and Mr. Manoj Narayan, Attorneys-at-law for the applicant.
The hearing of the Motion is expected to begin today.
