Says initial evidence points to the action of ‘arsonists’ and ‘terrorists’
THE Peoples Progressive Party (PPP) said it is “greatly saddened” by the destruction of the main building of the Ministry of Health in Brickdam, alluding to the fact that this was one of the nation’s most beautiful architectural heritage.
Compounding this is the initial evidence that points to the action of arsonists and terrorists.

“The action has coincided with attempt by some fringe elements to try to heat up the political situation (and) the demonstrations and provocations of the police were no doubt deliberate to court arrest in hope of gaining some support,” the PPP said in a statement.

“It appears to have been intentionally designed to create an atmosphere for arson and terrorism in the society,” the party added.

The PPP wishes to urge the security forces to have this incident thoroughly investigated and to bring the perpetrators to justice.
