THE police are investigating a suspected drowning in the Pomeroon River at the Charity waterfront, Essequibo Coast.

Reports indicate that Linden Williams, a boat captain of Moruka, Region One, (Barima-Waini), reportedly fell overboard into the Pomeroon River on Thursday night and is feared dead.

It is alleged that Williams, who is in his 40s, was the captain of a cargo boat which usually visits Charity to transport goods for his employer, a businessman of Moruka.
