THE Guyana International Kyokushinkai Martial Arts Academy (GIKMAA) concluded its final Grading Exercise of the year last weekend when 34 students took part in a Karate Exam under the tutelage of Dr Nazim Yassim.

Students from Enmore (18), Wales (9) and Enterprise (7) participated in the exercise.

Results:

Enterprise: Satish Udit, ShonnaSeusingh, and Rahul Miaram (10th Kyu to 9th Kyu)

David Mangru, Nickolas Rampersaud, Nirel Ramrattan and Alesha Paul (9th Kyu to 8th Kyu)

Wales: Junior Shilchand, Ganesh Persaud and Sharada Sookwah (9th Kyu to 8th Kyu)

Marcus Chowtie, John Brown and Christian Freeman (5th to 4th Kyu)

Enmore: Dharshanie Ahmad, and Shahid Shah (10th Kyu to 9th Kyu)

Ronald Ramkissoon, Mark Sue-Poi, Antonio Kumar, Anthony Gouveia and Jefferson Jaikissoon (9th Kyu to 8th Kyu)

Naveed N. Emamally and Mohamad Yasin (6th to 7th Kyu)

Avinash Somwaru and Totaram Jainarain, Govindanath Persaud (6th to 5th Kyu)

Chief Instructor Kelvin Walcott, Senior Instructor Maranda Bennett, Junior Instructors Umisha Parasram and Vikash Somwaru, Sampais Govind Ramkur and Bhudesh Shilchand have completed their 1st Dan Kobudo Weapons exams and to complete their ‘D’ level Refereeing and Judging exams this weekend at the Yearend Inter-club Bragging Rights Championship.

Dr Nazim expressed happiness with the progress of his students and their discipline. He noted that they worked very hard for their exams.

The karatekas will now look forward to the End-of-year Inter-club Bragging Rights Championship, this weekend at the Enmore Community Centre.
