Scotiabank awards students for NGSA, CXC performance

SCOTIABANK, last Saturday, awarded 12 students who performed well at the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) and Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) examinations.
Among the awardees were Ronaldo Mc Garrell, who placed 12th at this year’s NGSA and Lakeisha Patterson, who secured 10 grade ones, one grade two and one grade three at CXC.
They, each, also received a ‘Kindle Touch’ in recognition of their outstanding performance, at the Bank’s Robb Street, Georgetown branch.
The other recipients are Cynthia Songster, Abdool Majid, Jasanie Austin, Nicholas Aziz, Melissa Waldron, Nathifa Williams, Daniel Ally, David Ally, Akeem Adams and Shaniah De La Cruz.
The bursary awards vary, based on percentage achieved by the candidates. The sums range from $10,000 to $25,000 for percentages 50 per cent and over.
This is the first year such awards were made but they are available to employees’ children who write the NGSA as well as end of term examinations in secondary schools and CXC.
