POLICE are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at Annandale Public Road, East Coast Demerara (ECD) on Thursday, October 27 at about 10:40 hrs. Pedestrian Shafana Imran, 20, of Annandale West, ECD, perished in that incident. Investigations revealed that Shafana Imran was walking along the roadway when motor car PNN 2951 struck her. She was rushed to the GPHC, but nevertheless succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of that vehicle is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
Meanwhile, Delano Williams of 260 Middle Street, North Cummingsburg, Georgetown, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving following investigations into an accident that occurred on June 26, 2011 at Sheriff Street, Georgetown, which resulted in the death of pedestrian Sewcharran Ugraj of Mon Repos, ECD.
And Zayan Hussain of 148 La Bonne Intention, ECD has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving following investigations into an accident that occurred on December 18, 2009 at Ogle Public Road, ECD, which resulted in the death of Ganesh Jagan of La Bonne Intention, ECD.
As a consequence, these drivers’ licences have been suspended pending  outcome of the court matters.
