BRIAN Fox, 38, was put on $50,000 bail yesterday when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on a robbery charge.
The taxi driver (no address given) was not required to plead to the indictable offence, particulars of which said, on October 15, he robbed Zahir Ali of two gold chains valued $180,000.
Prosecuting, Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey said two men robbed the victim and escaped in a car, the driver of which was contacted.
The prosecutor said Fox told the police his stepson used the vehicle that day but investigators were unable to contact him.
The accused said he cooperated with the police and he was not fingered when placed on an identification parade.
The case will be mentioned, again, on November 1.
